Zadie's Big Day


Petty the Pirate says, ' A fantastic game, Zadie! Fantastic!'
Simon says, 'You're the best footballer, Zadie, and the best skateboarder!'
And her father says, 'You're so clever, Zadie! You're brilliant.' (p.53)



Today I read 'Zadie's big day.' The main character of it, Zadie, is good at playing football, and she is a key figure of her team. But, she met a boy, Simon, who is skateboarder, and she makes promise to compete on skateboarding. She wants to be the best, so she challenges to the championship of football and the game of skateboarding with Simon.
Also, after the discussion of the group, I found the difference between football and soccer. I was glad to know that.
I thought that Zadie was very cool girl. Also, she takes pride in her work. In the end of story, her talent was recognized by everyone. I was moved by the scene so much.

The Spider and the Beehive

The spider was ready for the next treat. But when he tried to climb out of the hive, he was stuck. His had become too big! "Help! Get me out!" he cried. The boy said, "You have not been very nice to me. Good-bye, greedy spider!" Then off he went.(pp. 12-13) Today I read The Spider and the Beehive. The book was written by Kama Einhorn. Once upon a time, there was a small village and a little boy and a tricky spider are in it. The boy was good at finding the biggest and sweetest fruit in the village. Then, the tricky spider suggested going to jungle and getting some fruits with the boy. The boy and the spider went into the jungle, but the spider had fruits all to himself, and then he gained weight, so when he ate up all the sweet honey into a beehive, he could not get out of it! The boy did not help him. Ahter all, the spider was able to get out, but he mended his ways and always shared his fruits since then. I think that the spilit of mutual aid is very very im

'Shrek, can you be the new King?' The King is dying but Shrek doesn't want to be the new King. With Donkey and Puss In Boots, he goes to find Arthur, the King's heir. But Prince Charming has other ideas ... Today, I read SHREK THE THIRD, a book in the Popcorn ELT Readers series. The story is famous in Japan, so I know the name of story. The book has a lot of picture. Thanks to this, it is very enjoyable to read, I think. Shrek is big, but afraid of things. So I think he is very cute, and I love him, too!
