The Red-headed League

"Well, when they dissolved the League, that the tunnel was ready. They needed to use it soon, before the bank discovered the tunnel or removed the gold. Saturday was better than any other day, because the bank was closed and they had two days for their escape. For all these reasons I expected them to come tonight." (p.56)

Today I read the book, "The Red-headed League." The main character of this story is Sherlock Holmes. This story is a bit long for me, but very interesting, so I could finish reading it easily. It is a famous story, so perhaps a lot of people know it. I don't want to write a spoiler in this blog, so I want everyone to read it.
Also, I searched the model of Sherlock Holmes. It was Joseph Bell, who was a surgeon and a teacher of the author, Arthur Conan Doyle. Bell had a sharp eye and he could guess right on patient's occupation, address, and family structure. After graduating from the university, Doyle got a hint from the ability of Bell and he wrote some detective stories.

My Tuesday ;)

I went to a cafe with my friend after school recently. My friend and I talked about a recent event in our school, our friends, and our high school days. We talked for a long time, so I went home a little later than usual, but I had a very good time. I think we were so noisy because we laughed out loud there. We might cause people in a cafe a lot of trouble, so I am sorry about this. We will meet next Tuesday, then we will quiet...

Days With Frog and Toad

I read Days with Frog and Toad yesterday. This book was written by Arnold Lobel. Frog and Toad enjoy spending their days together. They fly kites, celebrate Toad's birthday, and share the shivers when Frog tells a scary story. Most of all, they have fun together----every day of the year. This book was short, so it was easy to read. In addition, it has not difficult words, so it is easy to understand. Also, this picture was very very cute! I want you to read this!

The Spider and the Beehive

The spider was ready for the next treat. But when he tried to climb out of the hive, he was stuck. His had become too big! "Help! Get me out!" he cried. The boy said, "You have not been very nice to me. Good-bye, greedy spider!" Then off he went.(pp. 12-13) Today I read The Spider and the Beehive. The book was written by Kama Einhorn. Once upon a time, there was a small village and a little boy and a tricky spider are in it. The boy was good at finding the biggest and sweetest fruit in the village. Then, the tricky spider suggested going to jungle and getting some fruits with the boy. The boy and the spider went into the jungle, but the spider had fruits all to himself, and then he gained weight, so when he ate up all the sweet honey into a beehive, he could not get out of it! The boy did not help him. Ahter all, the spider was able to get out, but he mended his ways and always shared his fruits since then. I think that the spilit of mutual aid is very very im
