Henry and Mudge and the Happy Cat

The policeman said good-bye, and he took his happy cat home.
When Dave the cat was gone, Henry and Mudge felt very sad.
The towel closet was shut. The bathtub was empty. The dog toys were still.
Henry had to cry a little and take a nap.
Mudge had to eat a lot of crackers and take a nap.

Today I read HENRY AND MUDGE and the Happy Cat. The book was written by Cynthia Rylant. One day a very shabby cat shows up at Henry's door. Henry and his dog, Mudge, bring the cat inside and give him milk. Before long, they have made a wonderful new friend. The cat teaches Mudge mannaers and acts like she is his mother. But where did this scruffy, lovable cat come from? I was moved by this book. All character of this story became happy, so I felt at ease very much.

Vocabulary

shabby : みすぼらしい、ぼろを着た

My Tuesday ;)

I went to a cafe with my friend after school recently. My friend and I talked about a recent event in our school, our friends, and our high school days. We talked for a long time, so I went home a little later than usual, but I had a very good time. I think we were so noisy because we laughed out loud there. We might cause people in a cafe a lot of trouble, so I am sorry about this. We will meet next Tuesday, then we will quiet...

The Spider and the Beehive

The spider was ready for the next treat. But when he tried to climb out of the hive, he was stuck. His had become too big! "Help! Get me out!" he cried. The boy said, "You have not been very nice to me. Good-bye, greedy spider!" Then off he went.(pp. 12-13) Today I read The Spider and the Beehive. The book was written by Kama Einhorn. Once upon a time, there was a small village and a little boy and a tricky spider are in it. The boy was good at finding the biggest and sweetest fruit in the village. Then, the tricky spider suggested going to jungle and getting some fruits with the boy. The boy and the spider went into the jungle, but the spider had fruits all to himself, and then he gained weight, so when he ate up all the sweet honey into a beehive, he could not get out of it! The boy did not help him. Ahter all, the spider was able to get out, but he mended his ways and always shared his fruits since then. I think that the spilit of mutual aid is very very im

Bread and jam for Frances

Frances sang a little sad song: What I am Is tired of jam. (p.39) Frances is a fussy eater. She won't touch her soft-boiled egg. She trades away her sandwich at lunch. All she eats is bread and jam! But in the end of story, she is tired of jam. Although I like jam too, I will be tired if I eat it everyday. The scene where Frances cried because she didn't want to eat jam was very moving. It was easy for me to read it and this picture was very cute. So I want you to read it. I recommend that everyone read this book. Russell Hoban. (2008). Bread and jam for Frances . New York.
